This Hybrid approach shoe offers almost unlimited possibilities when it comes to moving fast in the mountains. It is equally designed for ticking off trail kilometers, jumping from boulder to boulder as for scrambling in the platy terrain. The synthetic upper is extra lightweight for protection and features a GORE-TEX® membrane that provides waterproofing without sacrificing breathability. The dual-density EVA midsole delivers the performance of a trail running shoe, but the TPU arch insert provides stability and torsion control, making the Rapid a hybrid that is suitable for both trail running and climbing. The Dynamic Protection System insert is used in the forefoot and improves the drive and edge stability of the shoe. The Vibram® outsole in Megagrip rubber compound offers unbeatable friction properties and a Climbing Zone in the area of the big toe. Snow underfoot? Muddy trails? Not a problem for the Rapid GTX. It is the perfect choice for moving quickly through mountain terrain in changing conditions.

Materials:

External material: Made of waterproof and abrasion resistant technical fabric with an external mesh of heat sealed TPU film for lateral support. The pressure and shock resistant tongue protects the most sensitive areas. It features an asymmetrical toe
Chuck: GORE-TEX Invisible Fit for a waterproof shoe without compromising fit, flexibility and weight. Bonded directly to the upper, the lightweight construction is invisible for a mesh-like comfort feel.

Outsole:

The Agility sole has an EVA midsole with different densities to absorb shock and increase comfort. Stability is supported by a TPU insert in the medial area. Dynamic Protection System (DPS) in the forefoot area for propulsion and reactivity. VIBRAM® Megagrip outsole with climbing zone.

Technologies and manufacturing processes

EXO
Upper construction system developed by SCARPA to better protect and support the foot. Lateral protection devices (inserts or heat embossing) are combined here with the upper materialeral and thus together form an exoskeleton.
