The global company adidas has its roots in Germany, in Herzogenaurach in central Franconia. This is where the company's headquarters are still located today with the "World of Sports" campus. The foundation stone for the brand was already laid in the 1920s, when the Dassler brothers founded their shoe factory. In 1947, Adi Dassler then started all over again with almost 50 employees and his own "Adi Dassler adidas Sportschuhfabrik". Since then, the famous 3-stripe has also been an adidas trademark.

In the beginning the focus was only on sports shoes. The success of the German national team in the 1954 World Cup final with adidas football shoes made the brand famous internationally. From the 60s onwards, the product range also included clothing. The first adidas garment was the "Franz Beckenbauer" tracksuit in 1967. From the very beginning, Dassler worked closely with competitive athletes to continuously develop and improve its products.

Since the 1970s, adidas has expanded its product range to include more and more sports. In addition to football, rugby, running and gymnastics, hiking has long been part of the repertoire. Mountaineering legend Reinhold Messner climbed Mount Everest in 1978 with the first light trekking shoe "Super Trekking". Today adidas offers clothing and shoes for every sport, every fashion and every style.
