Frequently asked questions

How should I pack for bikepacking?

Sleeping bag and clothes in the bar roll, heavy items such as tools, water or a stove in the frame bag. The saddle pack holds what you rarely need during the day. Anything you reach for while riding goes in the top-tube bag.

Does a saddle pack work with a dropper post?

Large bikepacking saddle packs mostly do not: when the post drops, the bag hits the tyre or blocks the post. Some brands sell dedicated mounts for this. Small tool bags usually fit.

Why do my panniers rattle?

Usually the hooks do not match the rack's tube diameter. Many systems take inserts to adjust them. A lower hook or catch keeps the bag in place on gravel too.

Can I fit a bar bag to drop bars?

Yes, if it fits between the hoods. Measure the width between your brake levers and leave room for hands and cables. A spacer holds the bag clear of the cables.

May the bag cover my lights?

No. Front and rear lights must stay clearly visible. If the bar roll hides the headlight or the saddle pack hides the rear light, move the light, for example to the fork or lower on the seat post.
