The Ortles Edge Mid Gore-Tex® is a dynamic, robust yet lightweight and versatile solution for high alpine mountain tours where maximum precision and good support are required to move safely. Its innovative materials and technologies make this product the perfect, versatile mountaineering boot for precise ascents without compromising on comfort. It is particularly lightweight and exceptionally robust - offering the perfect combination of durability and comfort, flexibility and protection. The robust, high-strength Schoeller®nylon upper features a rubber rand and TPU inserts for additional rock and scree protection as well as the patented SALEWA® 3F system reinforced with Kevlar wires. Additional weather protection is provided by the GORE-TEX® Performance Comfort membrane, which offers you both comfort and weather protection in changing conditions such as heavy rain and deep snow. Underfoot, the high-performance Pomoca™ Alpine Dynamic outsole ensures a secure grip on rock, snow and ice as well as good crampon compatibility. It has a Climbing Zone to guarantee good grip when climbing, the Pomoca S-Path design for improved walking characteristics and a special rubber compound for even more grip and traction on snow and ice. Inside, the dual-density EVA midsole guarantees good cushioning on both flat and steep terrain. In addition, the customizable Multi Fit Footbed Plus (MFF+) has interchangeable layers - so you can adapt the inside of the boot even better to your foot shape. On intensive days in the mountains with a long final descent, localized cushioning zones reduce the strain on your knees and ankles. And the Ankle Protector System (APS) does exactly what it says - the cuff made of thermoformed material provides additional lateral support and protection for the ankle, especially on the descent.
