The Ortles Couloir by Salewa is an award-winning mountain boot specifically designed for demanding alpine activities. Weighing just 725 g, it is the lightest in its category, yet offers exceptional technical precision, high-performance insulation and optimum protection. The boot is fully crampon compatible and is ideal for mountaineering, climbing and ice climbing. Its innovative design includes a lightweight carbon fiber frame for maximum rigidity and stability. Kevlar® and PU reinforcements provide additional protection and flexibility, while the carbon fiber Ankle Protector System protects the ankle while allowing freedom of movement.
The Ortles Couloir's highly effective insulation ensures that your feet stay dry and warm even in extreme conditions. A waterproof, breathable membrane in combination with an elastic protective nylon gaiter protects against snow and ice. The toe box is equipped with an additional, padded inner lining that protects against frostbite and prevents the cold from penetrating.
The Vibram® Litebase outsole, which is 30% lighter than conventional soles, ensures optimum surefootedness and stability. The special tread pattern with climbing zones, non-slip grooves and stepped lugs provides excellent grip, while the heel zone makes it easier to slow down on steep descents. The carbon fiber midsole supports stability and precision, while the polyurethane midsole ensures high comfort and a precise fit.
