- As the first karabiner with wire snapper, the new and improved Black Diamond HotWire is still an indispensable part of climbing equipment thanks to its versatility. With the versatility of a wire snapper karabiner, the HotWire is ideal for both sides of a Quickdraw, for camalots, slings for stand building and much more. Its revised geometry and hot forged construction has allowed us to lose a few grams while adding material where durability is most important. The HotWire now has a deeper diameter for hanging, while the flat construction on the webbing side ensures that the sling does not twist. The larger rope contact area not only makes the karabiner more durable but also protects the rope. We have also optimised the geometry of the keylock nose to make it even easier to hook the rope and unhook the bolts. The HotWire is a timeless classic that is ideal for sport climbing as well as for big walls and long, high alpine ice routes.
