High quality shoes for the mountain

Dolomite has its origins in Treviso, Italy, in the Veneto region. It all began there in 1897, when 17-year-old shoemaker Giuseppe Garbuio started making extremely sturdy work shoes in his small shoe factory.

Soon after, Dolomite made its mark in the ski boot sector with further innovations. For example, the Italian outdoor brand produced the first all-leather ski boots, in 1939 the first precision-fit models for bindings and 30 years later even the first plastic ski boots.

Conquering the fashion Olympus

Numerous expedition teams then became aware of Dolomite's highly functional products in the 1950s. At the time, these items were the most modern available on the market for such endeavors.

It was precisely for this reason that an Italian mountaineering team equipped themselves with Dolomite's special fur boots to climb K2, the second highest mountain on earth. They were the first people to reach the summit of K2 with the help of Dolomite's handmade fur boots, which were ideal for such extreme conditions.

The popular boots were further developed over time and eventually conquered the fashion Olympus with their extravagant look.

From shoe specialist to trendy sports fashion brand

Dolomite
Dolomite's own lifestyle line
In addition to high-quality and innovative footwear, Dolomite's insulating down jackets increasingly became the focus of extreme athletes in the 1960s. They protected, among others, many Mount Everest conquerors and expedition teams on their way to Greenland in temperatures as low as minus 40 degrees.

In the 80s, Dolomite eventually focused increasingly on fashion and presented the public in Italy for the first time a completely own outdoor and sportswear collection. To this day, the Dolomite down jackets from this collection have a cult status!

The spirit of adventure that accompanied Dolomite from the beginning in the manufacture of its products is now also reflected in the latest collections. For instance, some models bear names of mountain ranges and mountains that played an important role in Dolomite's history, such as the "Jacket W's 1954 Karakorum Evo" or the "Parka M's 60 Dhaulagiri".

A constant focus on sustainability

With the creation of its own sustainability certificate, the so-called Re-source by Dolomite, Dolomite is increasingly committed to the preservation of the environment. The goal is the support as well as the development of a sustainably acting company management.

Thanks to ecologically sustainable construction solutions, all products marked with Re-source by Dolomite stand for this socially responsible project. Meanwhile, even two-thirds of the collection is made of environmentally friendly material. This sustainable positive development is to be pushed further in the future.
