Crazy: Fast & Light Sportswear
Which qualities are really decisive for winter sports clothing? The Italian brand Crazy has been dealing with this question since its foundation. Born out of a childhood dream, the company has specialised in products for the best possible performance on the mountain that look good at the same time.
Born from experience
Valeria Colturi, founder of Crazy, has had the dream of creating fashion since childhood. Then there was her passion for winter sports, especially cross-country skiing, in which she even won the Italian Youth Championships. During her years of competition, she found that she could not find clothing that met her needs.
At that time, more and more new winter sports were becoming popular for which the existing range was too heavy or too inflexible. With the aim of creating functional clothing for these new activities, Valeria opened a boutique in her hometown of Bormio in 1989. She was only 20 years old at the time.
Her collections stood out from the broader masses in many ways. Specially designed to meet the needs of friends from the winter sports scene, the jackets and trousers were particularly lightweight, with dynamic cuts and designs. The choice of fabrics was also unusual at the time: instead of dark tones, the newborn brand chose eye-catching colours and patterns for a touch of fashion.
Crazy quickly became an insider tip and eventually a popular brand for top athletes and hobby winter sports enthusiasts.
Fast & Light
For decades, Crazy's philosophy has been: fast & light. To achieve this, the company does without any features that are not absolutely necessary. Instead, the focus is on minimal weight, efficiency and freedom of movement.
Excessive pockets or heavy fabrics are not to be found at Crazy. The clothing impresses with sporty fits and stretchy materials that are warm and breathable.
