Norwegian Start-Up with Vision
The start-up company from Oslo was founded in 2012 by the Swedish freeski legend Jon Olsson and the Norwegian product designer Truls Brataas. The two had met three years earlier while surfing in Norway. It was not only their passion for travelling that immediately brought them together. As enthusiastic skiers, they knew the problem of storing bulky sports equipment when travelling.
Together they searched for a solution and developed the world's lightest, size-adjustable and compressible ski bag with wheels, which was launched in 2012. Since then, Douchebags has continued to develop smart luggage for both long and short trips. As Olsson and Brataas come from the Action Sports community, their products are also influenced by an urban and active lifestyle.
Despite the name, the two founders are not Douchebags. The name proposal was initially only mentioned as a joke, but in the end it suited the young and rebellious start-up. It definitely attracts attention.

Smart Travel Gear
The innovative luggage from Douchebags quickly attracted international attention and has already received several awards. The foundations for this success were laid by their ski bags. Developed after 150 interviews with skiers, snowboarders and surfers, they were designed to meet the needs of athletes. Train attendants, bus drivers and airlines were also consulted as to what characteristics the bags needed to have for transport.
The result was five characteristics that can now be found in the bags. In order to be suitable for different sports equipment, the length of the ski bags can be adjusted. The carrying system and the wheels make it easier to transport the luggage. The equipment must be sufficiently protected by the bags. At the same time, they should be as light as possible and can be stowed in a small size.
A further highlight of the Douchebags is the patented hook-up system. Backpacks can be easily attached to the wheeled luggage or the ski bags with straps and thus do not have to be carried on the shoulders.
