Zanier
From passion for nature to a global company
Started as a simple project by the couple Werner and Gabi Zanier, the company with a long Tyrolean tradition was launched in 1969. The love for mountain sports and the demand for high quality equipment were the basis for the development of the glove production. Since then, standstill has not been an option for the Austrian family business, and so the company has been constantly developing new glove models or refining them for five decades. The result is gloves that protect and support athletes in the best possible way and help them with adventures in the mountains.
Zanier has worked closely with sportsmen and women right from the early stages of the company's development. In the meantime, the Austrian mountain rescue service is also equipped with gloves of the brand. According to the motto "especially the mountain rescue service knows what you need on the mountain" the company welcomes input in order to advance product developments.
With innovation to success - heatable gloves
In 1999, after almost three years of innovation, Zanier was the first company to launch heated gloves on the market. These give cold hands and aching fingers no chance! The Zanier heating technology is based on highly developed textile heating elements and special control electronics. Equipped with only 60g light, robust lithium-ion batteries, they warm up to 10 hours on 3 different levels. With a switch directly on the battery and a small lamp in the shape of a flame indicating the heating level (yellow, orange, red), the glove heater is easy to operate. Invisible and hardly noticeable, the battery can also be hidden in the waistband on the backhand. The included USB charger recharges the batteries overnight.
Focus on sustainability - 100% CO2 neutrality
With nature as its daily inspiration, Zanier focuses on sustainability to protect it. The traditional company reduces emissions where it can: for example, through green electricity, a heat pump, energy efficiency and the use of climate-friendly materials. Thanks to the cooperation with Climate Partner, Zanier can offer climate-neutral models. Climate-neutral means that the company's C02 emissions are calculated and offset through certified climate protection projects.
In addition to reduction and avoidance, offsetting emissions is an important step in holistic climate protection. Zanier supports two projects in this respect: "Cipra - Living in the Alps" in Austria, which is committed to sustainable development in the Alpine region, and a wind energy project in Guyang in China. The latter project is obvious, as the company also attaches particular importance to environmental protection in the areas where a large proportion of Zanier products are manufactured. In order to offer a more environmentally friendly and climate-friendly power supply in the long term, a wind farm was built in the region in 2008.
