EDAero Radhelm

Uvex presents the new uvex EDAero (Every Day Aerodynamics) racing bike helmet, an aerodynamic masterpiece for every day on the road. Uvex EDAero: Keep cool you're the fastestThe uvex EDAero is a masterpiece of computer simulation, engineering and professional know-how from the world of racing: It combines the outstanding aerodynamics of a drippy time trial helmet with optimum ventilation and a design suitable for everyday use. Responsible for the trend-setting racing bike helmet: uvex engineers and cycling professionals. The result is astonishing: For example, a power saving of 16 watts or the equivalent of 1 minute 25 seconds over a distance of 40 kilometres at a speed of 38 km/h is possible just by wearing the new uvex EDAero. Impressive figures, which every racing cyclist can immediately convert into propulsion and increased performance. Computer-optimized airflow The new shape of the uvex EDAero racing bike helmet is the basis of the fast helmet concept, but the heart is the construction of the air channels: The airflow is directed in a river around and through the helmet. Turbulence is minimised. The vertical air vents at the front of the EDAero allow air to flow straight into the helmet. This minimizes drag at the most important point where the air hits the helmet frontally. An optimized system of eight ventilation channels directs the air inside the helmet shell. This allows for cooling and ventilation of the head - even though the helmet is almost completely closed. This aerodynamically optimized synergy of ventilation and air resistance only works because the incoming air is discharged with little turbulence and exits in a straight line at the back of the head. Fast shell, protective core Of course, EDAero guarantees the protection of the helmet without compromising its function and protects the head optimally in case of falls. For this purpose it has the "Double Inmould Technology" from uvex. The advantage of Double Inmould: with a weight of 270g the helmet is light and stable at the same time. The thin plastic hardshell encases the insulating EPS inner shell. Inside the EPS plastic there are microscopic air pockets which can effectively absorb the forces acting on them. Therefore the helmet should be optimally adapted to the head shape and circumference. BOA system especially for cycling In exclusive cooperation, the patented BOA adjustment system has been specially adapted for use in cycling. The flexible individual parts can be optimally adapted to the respective head shape. In combination with the monomatic FAS locking system, the uvex EDAero sits comfortably without pressure during the ride and remains securely in the correct position in case of a fall. The EDAero will be available from spring 2015 in two shell sizes (53-57 cm/57-59 cm).
