Sea to Summit Ascent Women's -1C Down Sleeping Bag

The Ascent Women's -1C Down Sleeping Bag from Sea to Summit is the ideal companion for adventurers who don't want to sacrifice comfort and warmth even in colder temperatures. With a fill power of 750+ and RDS-certified goose down treated with a PFC-free Ultra-Dry process, this sleeping bag stays dry even in humid environments and offers optimal heat retention. Thanks to the Free Flow zipper system, you can perfectly regulate the temperature in the sleeping bag and use it in different configurations.
The fit specially developed for women ensures a narrower shoulder area to minimize weight and offers more space between the hips and knees for a natural side sleeping position. The anatomical foot box is also designed for optimized heat retention, so you stay warm and comfortable even on cold nights. The lightweight outer material made from recycled 20Dnylon with PFCfree DWRimpregnation protects against wind and moisture, while the inner lining made from recycled 20Dnylon provides additional comfort.
When temperatures rise, you can open the zipper of the Free Flow System to allow air exchange or open the sleeping bag completely and use it as a quilt. The Ascent sleeping bag is one of the few true backcountrythree-season sleeping bags on the market. In addition, the full-length hollow chamber construction and vertical hollow chambers on the upper body minimize down displacement and maximize heat retention.

Technologies and manufacturing processes

  • 750+ LOFT ULTRA-DRY DOWN

The third highest fill power in all Sea to Summit sleeping bags and quilts. 750+ Fill Power means that one ounce (30 g) of down expands to over 750 cubic inches after compression. A higher loft means that less down can be used to achieve the same temperature value - important for high-performance sleeping bags. The loft and quality/composition of the down is independently tested by the International Down and Feather Laboratory (IDFL) - a copy of the certificate is supplied with every Sea to Summit sleeping bag. The down is responsibly sourced, RDS certified and treated with our PFC-free Ultra-Dry Down treatment.
  • FREE FLOW ZIP

Our Free Flow construction with three zippers ensures that your sleeping bag offers maximum warmth and efficiency or a variety of ventilation options, depending on your needs. The (half) zipper on the right side of the sleeping bag (left side for women's specific sleeping bags) provides freedom of movement for both arms, extra ventilation and allows you to fold down (the top third) of the sleeping bag as a (mini) quilt when it gets warmer than expected.
  • QUILTLOCK SYSTEM

The QuiltLock system uses the snap closures on the shoulder and foot ends of Sea to Summit sleeping bags and the quilt foot box/quilt straps to attach a quilt to the sleeping bag. This increases the warmth and versatility of your sleeping system: Your integrated quilt is now suitable for ultra-light summer adventures and turns your three-season sleeping bag into a four-season sleeping system.
  • RESPONSIBLE DOWN STANDARD (RDS)

100% of the down used in our sleeping bags and quilts is independently certified to the Responsible Down Standard (RDS). The RDS certifies down according to animal welfare requirements and tracks it from source to end product. Purchasing RDS certified products demonstrates the demand for better animal welfare practices in the down and feather supply chain. Sea to Summit is RDS certified. More information about the RDS can be found at https://textileexchange.org/standards/responsible-down/
  • WOMEN-SPECIFIC FORM

Our women's specific bags are characterized by a special shape that ensures more comfort and the best thermal performance. The designs are ideally adapted to the female shape - slightly narrower at the shoulders and roomier at the hips. The down distribution is perfectly balanced to ensure that the torso and foot area are kept nice and warm.
  • PFC-free

All Sea to Summit Dry Bags, Pole Bags and Compression Bags have a durable water-repellent, PFC-free coating.
