RECCO SAR helicopter detectors are used from the air to search large areas very quickly for a missing person. The reflectors do not replace an avalanche transceiver or a companion rescue. However, RECCO® reflectors do not have to be switched on and serve as an additional aid to ensure that they can always be found by professional rescue teams.
