The Sternai jacket is designed specifically for Salewa's way of moving in the mountains. Lightweight TirolWool® Responsive synthetic insulation under the ripstop nylon shell fabric keeps you warm and improves thermal regulation - right where it's needed. The bluesign®-certified shell has a durable water-repellent DWR finish to protect against wind, rain and snow, and Durastretch inserts at the sleeves increase breathability. Hybrid thermal-regulating insulation The Sternai jacket is designed for dynamic activities in cold conditions, and its hybrid body-mapping construction addresses the specific insulation needs of different areas of the body. The TirolWool® Responsive (60 g) insulation fill traps your body heat - even when wet. TirolWool® was developed in collaboration with the Tyrol Mountain Rescue Service and is made from wool from high mountain sheep. Responsive, Salewa's proprietary heat-regulating technology, is based on synthetic yarns that we have enriched with thermoreactive minerals. The minerals return the infrared energy radiated by the body to it - stimulating microcirculation. This unique function remains throughout the product life cycle, as the technology does not wear out. The Sternai jacket is named after the mountain of the same name in the Ortler Alps in Italy (Italian: Cima Sternai; German: Hintere Eggenspitze). It has a close-fitting Durastretch hood, two exterior zippered pockets, and a full-length wind flap under the front zipper. It also fits comfortably under any hardshell jacket and can be packed away to save space thanks to the integrated compression pocket.
