For stop-and-go activities on the mountain as well as for speed hiking in autumn or winter, climate regulation is crucial. We have developed the Pedroc 2 TirolWool® Responsive Hybrid Jacket precisely for such undertakings: it is lightweight, warm, breathable and specially designed for movement-intensive activities in cold conditions. It uses TirolWool® Responsive insulation, made using Salewa's proprietary TirolWool® Hybrid technology, which provides an ideal combination of insulation and breathability. TirolWool® Responsive combines the natural benefits of wool with advanced thermoregulating technology. The wool with a high lanolin content (wool wax) is obtained from Tyrolean mountain sheep and is highly functional: the wool fibers warm even when wet, regulate body temperature and at the same time prevent unpleasant odor. Responsive is a patented blend of thermoreactive minerals that are pulverized and melted into a resin, which is then incorporated into the core of recycled polyester fibers. This gives the fabric the unique ability to convert the body's radiant heat into infrared light, store it and gradually return it to the body. On the one hand, this stimulates circulation and blood flow, which in turn promotes regeneration, and on the other hand, it allows insulation performance to be maintained for longer. Processed in a lightweight, wind-resistant nylon outer fabric, which is also equipped with a water-repellent DWR treatment (Durable Water Repellent), the 50 gram lightweight TirolWool® Responsive insulation is used on the arms as well as in the chest area. Meanwhile, the double-woven Durastretch material in the underarm area provides the necessary breathability: it allows perspiration to evaporate quickly and is fast drying. In addition, the jacket impresses with features such as an insulated hood and two side pockets with zippers and a chest pocket on the inside.
