Salewa Ortles Polartec®/Wool Hloft M Full Zip Hoody

Men's hoodie in light, warm, very airy Polartec® fleece made from a wool blend for mountaineering, ski mountaineering and ice climbing: perfect for long distances and classic winter descents. Our warm, moisture-wicking and highly breathable Ortles Polartec® Wool Highloft Full-Zip Hoody was developed together with our SALEWA® athletes who regularly train in cold, wet conditions. This hoody provides targeted, lightweight insulation and moisture management for winter mountaineering, ice climbing or ski mountaineering. It is the perfect intermediate layer for intensive stop-and-go activities in extreme weather conditions. The key to its technical performance is Polartec® Wool, a material developed exclusively by Salewa in collaboration with Polartec®. It uses a two-component knitting technology that combines merino wool and synthetic fibers in a hybrid construction. Wool offers greater comfort because it insulates and breathes even when wet. Thanks to its absorbent properties, it wicks water vapour away from the skin and the base layer, allowing it to expand and evaporate more quickly. The synthetic fibres, on the other hand, ensure greater durability, dimensional stability and faster drying, and thus greater comfort when used in the mountains. You benefit from the properties of several layers in a single material, as well as enormous warmth at low weight. Wool also offers natural odour control. On the sides and sleeves we use a lighter Polarlite fleece made from a wool blend with a smoother outer and a roughened inner surface, which in line with the SALEWA® Body Mapping System provides additional breathability and improved durability. The clean, sporty fit is characterised by a specially cut hood and ergonomic sleeves and shoulders. Comfortable, elastic cuffs and an elasticized hem keep you warm. This hoodie can also be packed in its integrated compression pocket to save space and disappear into your backpack.
