Precise climbing and comfortable walking - in different weather conditions and all in one shoe. The model Wildfire Edge Mid GORE-TEX® is a unique technical solution for alpinists, mountaineers and climbers who need an approach shoe with enhanced climbing performance. The model is based on the smart and simple Salewa Switchfit system, which allows you to quickly change the fit for hiking or climbing through compression in the toe area similar to that of hiking boots. Simply tighten the laces to pull your foot forward into the toe box. When you're done climbing, you can loosen the laces back to the original position for a wider toe box and more comfort while hiking. For even greater precision when climbing, the Wildfire Edge insole also includes an Edging Plate under the lateral foot and big toe for added directional stiffness. The rest of the insole, on the other hand, remains flexible and responsive to guarantee good comfort and a natural rolling motion. The 11mm tread is also ideal for a quick uphill climb or excellent grip when traversing. The lightweight, flexible, mid-cut upper is made of 1.6mm suede, while the Extra Shell provides enhanced torsional stability and, along with the 3F system, wraps the foot for better flexibility, fit and support. On the inside, the GORE-TEX® Extended Comfort lining is durably waterproof and breathable, so sweat and water won't penetrate, but sweat is easily wicked away from your feet. For greater protection from snow, debris and dirt, there's an elastic gaiter. The MFF+ footbed also lets you adjust the interior volume. On the bottom, the Wildfire Edge Mid GORE-TEX® is equipped with the Pomoca Speed MTN Pro sole, which guarantees better grip and friction on rocks in both dry and wet conditions thanks to a Pomoca Butyl rubber compound. The sole has a precise climbing area at the toe, good edging and ideally distributed tread blocks for improved grip on soft ground such as mud and grass.
