Our Antelao Powertex 3L shell jacket provides weather protection for various mountain uses, from ski mountaineering and day trips on skis to winter mountaineering and ice climbing. The waterproof, windproof and 3-layer Powertex Extreme outer material has taped seams and a DWR finish (DWR=Durable Water Repellent). Powertex® is Salewa's own developed weather protection coating, specially created for mountain sports. At its heart is an extremely thin polyurethane (PU) membrane that provides lasting protection against water, as its microscopic pores are much smaller than water droplets. At the same time, the pores of the membrane are also much larger than water vapour molecules that are released when you sweat, allowing them to escape from your clothing. This makes the membrane both waterproof and breathable. The Antelao Powertex 3L Shell offers additional protection in the form of an ergonomic, helmet-compatible storm hood with a pre-shaped peak that can be adjusted on the back with one hand. And Salewa's innovative concealed gusset insert with zip ensures a precise fit under all circumstances - whether you're wearing a helmet or not. The waterproof YKK zippers, front zip with full-length outside storm flap, detachable zippered snow skirt and adjustable velcro cuffs are other technical weather protection features of this jacket. Our Athletic Fit provides unrestricted freedom of movement, while the Free Motion design allows the arms to be fully extended and moved, preventing the hem from slipping up and exposing the back when climbing.
