Technologies and manufacturing processes

  • Mammut Down 850 cuin

The filling power of the down is indicated in "Cuin" (cubic inch per ounce): The higher the Cuin number, the higher the bulking capacity and consequently the thermal insulation for the same weight.
  • Down aus artgerechter Haltung

Down extraction is documented by manufacturers' own (e.g. Down Codex by Mountain Equipment) or independent seals (e.g. RDS) according to clear criteria.
  • Fair Wear Foundation

The Fair Wear Foundation (FWF) is an independent organisation that monitors working conditions in companies in the textile industry and aims to improve them worldwide.
  • Responsible Down Standard for ethically correct down

The Responsible Down Standard (RDS) guarantees the origin of down from certified farms with ethically sound husbandry.
  • PFC free manufactured impregnations

PFCs are used for impregnation, among other things. They accumulate in water, soil and organisms and are harmful to humans and the environment.
  • DWR impregnated clothing and equipment

DWR stands for "Durable water repellent". Functional materials thus receive a particularly long-lasting impregnation.
