Mammut 9.5 Alpine Core Protect Dry Rope

The 9.5 Alpine Core Protect Dry Rope from Mammut is a revolutionary single rope that has been specially developed for alpine climbing and mountaineering. Thanks to an additional aramid sheath, it is significantly more cut-resistant when exposed to sharp edges and at the same time meets all the standards of a dynamic climbing rope. The aramid sheath is located between the polyamide outer sheath and core and unfolds in the event of a fall without impairing the dynamic properties of the rope.
This rope is certified as a single rope and achieves less than 2% water absorption in UIAA tests, making it permanently water and dirt repellent. The Dry finish ensures optimized abrasion resistance, while the abrasion-resistant center markings and tangle-free design make handling easier. With a diameter of 9.50 mm and a weight of 59 g/m, the rope offers an excellent balance between lightness and robustness.
Particularly noteworthy is the high cut resistance of the rope, which is ensured by the Aramid sheath. This significantly increases safety, especially in demanding climbing situations. Whether for mountaineering, multi-pitch routes or ice climbing - the Core Protect Rope offers maximum safety under the toughest conditions.
With a first fall elongation of 31 % and a static elongation of 8 %, the rope offers the necessary flexibility and dynamics to effectively absorb falls. It can withstand up to 5 UIAA falls with an impact force of 8.9 kN, making it a reliable companion for any alpine challenge.

Technologies and manufacturing processes

  • UIAA Water Repellent

Reduced water absorption and increased abrasion resistance for more safety. Our UIAA Dry impregnation reduces water absorption to less than 1.5% of the rope weight.
  • Dry

Mammut Dry ropes feature reduced water absorption and increased abrasion resistance for greater safety. Treated ropes have a longer service life and are ideal for wet conditions.
  • UIAA

The UIAA Safety Label guarantees that equipment samples have been tested by an accredited, independent third party and have been proven to meet the standards set by the International Climbing and Mountaineering Federation (UIAA).
  • Core Protect Technology

There is an aramid sheath between the outer sheath and the core of the rope, which makes the rope significantly more cut-resistant when exposed to sharp edges. The polyamide outer sheath protects the carabiner and belay device from the rough aramid fibers.
