The facts at a glance
Mammut 8.0 Alpine Core Protect Dry Rope 60m
The 8.0 Alpine Core Protect Dry Rope from Mammut is a highly developed rope that has been specially designed for the demanding conditions of mountaineering, climbing and alpine climbing. It offers an excellent combination of safety, durability and user-friendliness. Thanks to the UIAA-certified permanent water and dirt repellency, the rope remains reliable and safe even under the toughest conditions. The innovative Dry finish ensures optimized abrasion resistance, while the abrasion-resistant center marking facilitates handling.
The additional aramid sheath, which lies between the polyamide outer sheath and core, is particularly noteworthy. This ensures that the rope is significantly more cut-resistant when exposed to sharp edges without losing the dynamic properties of a high-quality climbing rope. With a diameter of just 8 mm and a weight of 43 g/m, the rope is light yet robust enough to meet the requirements of half and twin rope techniques.
The rope is krangeless and ready to climb, which means that it does not need to be uncoiled before first use. It achieves less than 2% in UIAA water absorption tests and therefore offers maximum protection against moisture. Whether for mountaineering, ice climbing or alpine tours, the Mammut 8.0 Alpine Core Protect Dry Rope is the ideal companion for anyone looking for safety and performance in one product.

Technologies and manufacturing processes
UIAA Water Repellent
Reduced water absorption and increased abrasion resistance for more safety. Our UIAA Dry impregnation reduces water absorption to less than 1.5% of the rope weight.Dry
Mammut Dry ropes feature reduced water absorption and increased abrasion resistance for greater safety. Treated ropes have a longer service life and are ideal for wet conditions.UIAA
The UIAA Safety Label guarantees that equipment samples have been tested by an accredited, independent third party and have been proven to meet the standards set by the International Climbing and Mountaineering Federation (UIAA).Core Protect Technology
There is an aramid sheath between the outer sheath and the core of the rope, which makes the rope significantly more cut-resistant when exposed to sharp edges. The polyamide outer sheath protects the carabiner and belay device from the rough aramid fibers.
