The facts at a glance
Mammut 8.0 Alpine Core Protect Dry Rope
The 8.0 Alpine Core Protect Dry Rope from Mammut is the revolutionary double rope for alpine climbing and mountaineering, which impresses with its increased cut resistance and outstanding safety features. Thanks to the additional aramid sheath, which is embedded between the polyamide outer sheath and core, this rope offers exceptional protection against sharp edges and increases safety in the event of falls. The aramid sheath unfolds under load and ensures that the rope remains just as dynamic as other Mammut ropes without compromising on handling and abrasion resistance.
This rope is doubly certified as a half and twin rope and achieves less than 2% water absorption in UIAA tests, which makes it permanently water and dirt repellent. With a diameter of 8.00 mm and a weight of only 43 g/m, it is light and handy, yet extremely robust. The abrasion-resistant center marking and the optimized abrasion resistance thanks to the dry finish ensure additional durability and safety under the toughest conditions.
For mountaineers and climbers who place the highest demands on their equipment, the 8.0 Alpine Core Protect Dry Rope is the perfect choice. It is "ready to climb", i.e. it is tangle-free and does not need to be unwound before first use. With a static elongation of 9% and a first fall elongation of 30%, it offers excellent shock absorption properties and safety.

Technologies and manufacturing processes
Dry
Mammut Dry ropes feature reduced water absorption and increased abrasion resistance for greater safety. Treated ropes have a longer service life and are ideal for wet conditions.UIAA
The UIAA Safety Label guarantees that equipment samples have been tested by an accredited, independent third party and have been proven to meet the standards set by the International Climbing and Mountaineering Federation (UIAA).Core Protect Technology
There is an aramid sheath between the outer sheath and the core of the rope, which makes the rope significantly more cut-resistant when exposed to sharp edges. The polyamide outer sheath protects the carabiner and belay device from the rough aramid fibers.
