The facts at a glance
La Sportiva Olympus Mons Cube
The Olympus Mons Cube from La Sportiva is the ultimate technical boot for thermal mountaineering in the Himalayas, ice crossings and extreme use in very cold conditions. It is the first high-altitude mountaineering boot with an insert at the toe for ski mountaineering bindings with tech bindings, making it the ideal footwear for expeditions to the South and North Pole. With advanced solutions, it guarantees thermals, lightness, quick donning and doffing, safety and water repellency.
This unisex hiking boot is made directly in the production center in Val di Fiemme, at the foot of the Dolomites, and represents the latest in technological innovation. Despite its small external volume, the Olympus Mons Cube remains a warm expedition boot with a removable liner that is lighter than its predecessor. The super clean and seamless design is achieved through thermal welding on the inside and UltraSound Welded technology that seamlessly joins materials.
Another highlight is the Corner Zip™ zipper along the entire gaiter, which facilitates access to the inner boot. This inner boot is equipped with the BOA® Fit System, which enables easy operation even when wearing gloves and allows differentiated lacing at the top and bottom thanks to two BOA® fasteners. The thermal liner has an additional insulating layer and can be removed for easier drying.
The incredible lightness of the Olympus Mons Cube is based on the Vibram® Litebase + Vibram® Morflex sole, which offers high insulating properties. This sole combines die-cut rubber with a specific fabric layer for rubber reduction and uses an exclusive blend of abrasion-resistant expansion materials, making the shoe one of the lightest in its category.
