W's Rollercoaster Pants

We set out to change the way it feels to wear a shell layer. To achieve full freedom of movement, we had to question the foundations of garment construction. Instead of traditional flatbed pattern construction, the Rollercoaster Pants are draped directly on a body in active positions mimicking those of mountaineering and freeride skiing. We call the concept Made to move. Rollercoaster Pants are fully featured for skiing and mountaineering, but still doesn’t overdo it with unnecessary pockets and technology. Instead, it’s that garment construction that makes it stand out from the masses. The high bib pant are made in a light, stretchy and silent shell fabric called Loop Hardshell™ that enhances the feeling of being fully unrestricted. Go ski touring in the morning and finish with a couple of laps in the fun park in the afternoon. Rollercoaster Pants will keep you dry and comfortable through it all. All the seams are taped for water protection and if you get too hot, just open up the ¾ length vent zippers on both legs. Two harness compatible thigh pockets and one internal pocket will keep you belongings safe all day. The light material is reinforced at the leg endings with Shoeller® patches to deal with wear from boots or ski steel edges. Rollercoaster pants are also pushing boundaries in terms of sustainability. They are made from 70% recycled polyester, are fully recyclable, Bluesign® certified and free from PFAS. When they are completely worn out, please bring them back to Houdini for recycling.

    Care instructions

    • Airing laundry instead of washing saves water and energy and extends the life of the garment. Be sure to wash your shell if it has been used in salt water or has become very sweaty or dirty, as this will weaken the performance of the garment. This can reduce the breathability of the fabric and damage the water repellent surface. The dirt can even allow moisture to seep through the fabric.
    • Use our wash bagz to protect your clothes and prevent fibres from leaking. When cleaning the bag and filter in the machine, make sure you clean it and throw the lint in the bin. Never rinse it in water as we don't want the fibres to end up in lakes or oceans.
    • Machine wash cold
    • There are special detergents for shells, but mild detergents certified as environmentally friendly work just as well. Use the right dose.
    • Avoid fabric softener. This is not only harmful to our environment, but also has a negative effect on the performance of the clothing, especially on moisture transport and breathability.
    • Hang the shell out to dry. Just remember to apply heat to the garment after washing to reactivate the water repellent surface of the shell fabric. Use a drying cabinet, dryer, or iron. Make sure that the heat is well dosed so that the garment does not melt.
    • You can reapply or reinforce the water repellent treatment as needed with a wash or spray. Always use an organic DWR: You can find both a Spray and a Wash In in our webshop or in our stores.
    • Remember to apply heat to the garment after washing to reactivate the water repellent surface of the fabric.

    Technologies and manufacturing processes

    • Shell product with membrane

    • Loop Hardshell™

Robust material with mechanical stretch offers a high level of comfort. Resistant and quiet with a matte and supple finish. Waterproof, breathable and abrasion resistant ripstop construction.
    • Atmos™

Atmos Membrane™ is a hydrophilic non-microporous membrane. It allows moisture to escape on a molecular level. The more moisture it circulates, the better it wicks moisture away from the body. The Atmos membrane guarantees the high Houdini standard of function and sustainability that no other membrane on the market can match. The Atmos Membrane™ is made of polyester and completely free of harmful PFAS.
