Houdini Activist Neck Gaiter

Activist Neck Gaiter is made from 60% super fine 19,3µm merino wool and 40% Tencel™ Lyocell. Tencel is a sleek and soft fiber that gives the merino wool a great texture and better moisture management. Wool provides a comfortable warmth and is naturally odor resistant. The Activist fabric is made from all natural fibers and is therefore completely biodegradable as well as recyclable. Activist Neck Gaiter can be used in many ways. Pull over your face on those really cold days in the ski slopes. Wear it around your neck on a cold bicycle commute. Maybe you prefer to wear it as a headband? We leave that entirely up to you, but if you’re looking for a light and warm wool tube scarf, we can highly recommend this garment. Please don’t throw away this garment when it’s worn out. Activist Neck Gaiter is made from renewable and biodegradable fibers. The raw materials are valuable and can be used again through recycling or composting. Bring it back to a Houdini shop or one of our retailers that has a Houdini recycling unit.

Care instructions

  • Use our wash bag to protect your clothes.
  • Machine wash cold, preferably with a wool program.
  • If possible, use wool detergent. Otherwise, mild, environmentally certified detergents and be sure to use the correct dosage. Choose a detergent that contains a neutral pH and no enzymes.
  • Avoid the use of bleaches and alkaline substances that increase the pH. As well as the use of enzymes such as protease or amylase, as they can degrade the wool that gives the material its natural performance properties. This also applies to silk.
  • Avoid fabric softener. This is not only harmful to our environment, but also negatively affects the performance of clothing, especially moisture transport and breathability.
  • Do not tumble dry.
  • Shape the garment after washing and lay flat to dry.

Technologies and manufacturing processes

  • Activist TreeMerino™

Optimal organic solution for the future. Softer than pure merino wool and with effective moisture management.
  • Wool material

Wool is a fantastic material with natural resistance to bacteria and dirt. Therefore, wool does not need to be washed after each use. Frequent washing negatively affects the properties of wool and wears out the garment unnecessarily. Instead, air your wool garments to reduce water consumption, save energy and extend the life of the garment.
  • Circular

This product is completely circularly produced. Means: It is made from either recycled and recyclable fibers. Most products in today's society have a linear life cycle where the earth's resources are extracted, used and then thrown away. This doesn't work in the long run and has a big impact on the environment. Instead, we want to close the production cycle and reuse materials we already have. But we need your help. If one day your Houdini apparel is completely worn out, please bring it back to us. We have recycling units in all Houdini stores and at many of our retailers.
  • biodegradable

The material in this product is completely biodegradable. We never mix our natural fibers with synthetic fibers, nor do we use harmful chemicals. So you can even compost your clothing and Mother Nature transforms it back into fertile soil. Ingredients such as zippers, tags and stitching must be removed beforehand, but can often be recycled separately. If you don't have your own compost, bring your worn out clothes to us. We have recycling units at many of our retailers.
  • Renewable

The fibers in this product come from 100% renewable sources such as wool or cellulose. We use only natural fibers that have been produced in an environmentally friendly and ethical way. Natural and synthetic fibers are used, they both have their merits. However, we never mix them in order to obtain a circularly produced product. This means that the material of all our products made of natural fibers is completely biodegradable.
  • Recyclable

The material of this product is fully recyclable. Instead of becoming waste, the raw material can be used for new products. Our goal is to remove no more new raw materials from the earth's crust by 2030. Circular products made from recycled or recyclable materials can truly change the game of manufacturing culture. We need your help, though. If your Houdini apparel is completely worn out, please bring it back to us. We have recycling units in all of our own stores and at many of our retailers.
