Edelrid Ohm

The Ohm by Edelrid is an indispensable safety device for climbers who value ease of use and reliability. It is clipped into the first intermediate anchor in the belay chain and ensures that, in the event of a fall by the lead climber, significantly less force is exerted on the belayer. This is particularly beneficial when there is a significant weight difference between the climbing partners. With the Ohm, the climber becomes 25 kg “lighter,” which reduces the risk of the belayer being pulled up uncontrollably.
The device is suitable for single ropes with a diameter of 8.9 to 11.0 mm and works best with carabiners certified to EN 12275 or EN 362. Another advantage of the Ohm is its ability to control the descent of heavier climbers, which further enhances safety while climbing. Thanks to its swivel joint, installing the device is straightforward, as the direction of attachment does not matter, and the locking system prevents accidental opening.
