The sleeves, like other load-bearing parts of the Steel-O-Flex PHANTOM™ 8960, are specially hardened and therefore particularly difficult to crack. The convenience of the Steel-O-Flex PHANTOM™ 8960 is not neglected either: The Fidlock magnetic holder makes it much easier to remove and attach the cable lock from and to the bike.
