Innovations and design made in the USA
The beginnings of Oakley were in motorcycling. When Jim Jannard founded the company in 1975, a motorcycle grip was his first product. A few years later, he launched motocross goggles. Today, the Southern California-based brand produces goggles for a wide range of uses including winter sports, cycling, motor sports, surfing and golf. In addition to eyewear, Oakley also offers ski and bike helmets and clothing.
To this day, Oakley eyewear is developed by designers, engineers and inventors in the USA. Over the years, the innovative brand has generated more than 800 patents, including Prizm technology since 2014.
PRIZM - For more contrast and detail
A special feature of Oakley eyewear is the Prizm lenses. This patented lens technology improves color and contrast vision for sharper recognition of details. For optimal vision, the lenses filter the relevant wavelengths of the light spectrum. This enhances the perception of detail and makes colors appear more vivid.
Depending on the terrain or sport, Oakley offers the right Prizm lenses for every occasion. With Prizm Snow, you are able to see the terrain and the contours of the snow much better when skiing. Prizm Road lenses help you see changes in road surface such as potholes and rocks while cycling. Mountain bikers use Prizm Trail lenses to better see the differences in ground conditions.
