C.A.M.P.
A company with a long tradition
The mission of C.A.M.P. is already in its name, which is an acronym. Written out, it means "Construzione Articoli Montagna Premana", meaning " Manufacturing of mountain equipment in Premana". C.A.M.P. began in 1889 in Nicola Codega's forge in the mountain village of Premana near Lake Como. The first mountain sports equipment was created thirty years later under the direction of Nicola Codega's son and was constantly improved or supplemented with further products by his successors. Always inspired by top mountaineers and their needs.
Today, mountaineers far beyond the borders of Italy know the high-quality equipment from C.A.M.P. and rely on the extensive portfolio with rock and ice equipment, backpacks, helmets, trekking poles, sleeping bags, tents and alpine down jackets. The small local blacksmith's shop has become an internationally recognised family business in its fourth generation.
What distinguishes C.A.M.P. products?
In keeping with the modern mountaineering motto "light & fast", C.A.M.P. products stand for lightness and performance. They remain true to the local mountain culture and yet are open to innovations and global trends. C.A.M.P. products are still developed and tested in Premana and partly still produced locally. This is how the company guarantees the high quality and functionality of the range.
Always on the move
Continuous research and development are the strengths of C.A.M.P. Always on the lookout for optimisation possibilities, the company works for more safety, more chances of success, and the best possible mountain experience for its customers. For example, the company focuses on weight reduction while maintaining the robustness, durability and safety of its products. Less weight means more scope for the climber's experience and a free climbing experience.
