Mountain Hardwear was founded in 1993 to stop the loss of quality in the outdoor industry at that time. Jack Gilbert and his team observed how the quality of outdoor products was deteriorating and becoming less technical. They wanted to counteract this trend and have been developing high-quality, functional outdoor clothing and equipment since that. Not to compromise, but to cover all the necessary functions for the needs of athletes. Following their motto "form following function", they purposefully design products made with the highest quality materials and equipped with the latest technologies. Fit, weather protection, temperature regulation and moisture management help supporting the athlete perfectly. For Mountain Hardware, function and durability count more than fashion, yet there is no lack of creativity in their collections.
Tradition and new demands
The values of the brand have not changed, but the demands on manufacturers are constantly changing. Just as the performance of athletes is becoming more and more extreme, a brand must also constantly improve and meet all demands.
