The Ortles Heavy RDS Down W Jacket by Salewa is specially designed for women and ideal for demanding hikes and alpine activities. Developed based on detailed feedback from Salewa's female alpine athletes, this down jacket offers exceptional warmth and freedom of movement thanks to its free-motion cut pattern with ergonomically cut sleeves and shoulders. The jacket impresses with its water-repellent, extremely robust 2-layer Ripstop Powertex Shell membrane with a high-quality DWR finish that offers optimum protection in all weather conditions.
A high-quality 90/10 down filling with a fill power of 750 cuin is used for the insulation, which is held in place by a 3Dchamber construction. This down is RDS-certified and comes from independently audited, traceable sources. The jacket has a breathable membrane with a breathability of 8000 gr/m²/24h and a water column of 10000 mmH2O, which makes it particularly resistant to wind and water.
Functional features include a cleverly designed hood that offers an optimal fit both with and without a helmet and can be perfectly adjusted with drawstrings at the front and back. The 2-Wege front zipper allows excellent access to the climbing harness and belay device if they are worn under the jacket. Two cuffs at the hem and a windproof gaiter prevent cold draughts from entering and seal in the core warmth. The jacket can also be stowed in a practical Pack-Away pocket, making it easy to transport.
