The Wildfire Edge Mid GTX by Salewa is the perfect technical solution for alpinists, mountaineers and climbers looking for an approach shoe with improved climbing performance. The intelligent Salewa Switchfit system allows you to quickly adjust the fit: simply tighten the laces to pull the foot forward into the toe area and create climbing-friendly compression. If you loosen the laces again, you can enjoy a wider toe area and more comfort when hiking.
For even greater precision when climbing, the Edging Plate in the insole provides additional stiffness under the lateral foot and the big toe. At the same time, the rest of the insole remains flexible and responsive, which ensures outstanding comfort and a natural rolling motion. The 11 mm profile of the sole is ideal for fast uphill climbs and offers excellent grip when crossing different types of terrain.
The lightweight, flexible, mid-cut upper is made from 1.6 mm suede, while the Exa Shell offers improved torsional stability and, together with the 3F system, wraps the foot for better flexibility, fit and support. The GORE-TEX® Extended Comfort lining is durably waterproof and breathable so that sweat and water cannot penetrate, while moisture is easily wicked away from the feet. An elastic gaiter provides additional protection from snow, debris and dirt.
Thanks to the MFF+ footbed, you can adjust the inner volume of the shoe individually. The Pomoca Speed MTN Pro sole, made from a special Pomoca Butyl rubber compound, guarantees the best grip and friction on rocks in both dry and wet conditions. The sole has a precise climbing area on the toe, good edging and ideally distributed tread blocks that provide improved grip on soft ground such as mud and grass.
