Salewa MS Wildfire Edge GTX

The MS Wildfire Edge GTX by Salewa is a versatile approach shoe that can be effortlessly transformed from a hiking shoe into a climbing shoe. Thanks to the innovative Salewa Switchfit system, which was developed in collaboration with mountain guides and professional climbers from the Dolomites, you can adjust the shape of the shoe by simply tightening the laces. This pulls your foot forward and squeezes the toes together, similar to a climbing shoe, to make climbing on technical terrain easier. To switch back to a hiking boot, simply loosen the laces again, giving the toe cap more room and increasing comfort.
The Wildfire Edge GTX is equipped with a GORE-TEX® Extended Comfort membrane, which makes it waterproof and extremely breathable at the same time. This ensures that your feet stay dry and comfortable in a wide range of weather conditions. The abrasion-resistant suede and microfiber upper and the Exa Shell structure offer additional torsional stability and prevent slipping in the shoe. Salewa's 3F system guarantees flexibility, a good fit and a firm hold, while the Climbing Lacing extends to the toes and enables a precise fit.
The Pomoca Speed MTN sole of the Wildfire Edge GTX is made of a particularly adhesive rubber compound that provides excellent friction on smooth rock structures. The outsole has special lugs that offer better grip on muddy and soft ground and provide effective grip in both dry and wet conditions. An edging plate under the forefoot improves precision when climbing, while the rest of the insole remains flexible to ensure a high level of comfort and a natural rolling motion.
The shoe is also equipped with the Multi Fit Footbed Plus (MFF+), which you can adapt to your foot shape with interchangeable layers. This is part of Salewa's signature Alpine Fit and the "100% blister-free" guarantee. Weighing just 437 g per shoe, the Wildfire Edge GTX is a high-performance and customizable shoe for climbers and technical approaches.
