• ETHER LIGHT XT AIR SPRUNG CELLS

  Air Sprung Cells are the core technology of Sea to Summit Air Mats and the reason why you sleep more comfortably on a Sea to Summit mat than on a conventional air mattress. Inspired by the springs of a modern pocket spring mattress, dozens of interconnected chambers (called Air Sprung Cells) perfectly support your weight and conform to your body contours. In the Ether Light range, loops of TPU material are used to join the top and bottom seams. This creates a thicker cell that gives you a soft sleeping experience without compromising the comfort of the Sea to Summit Air Sprung Cells.

• INTEGRATED AIRSTREAM

  The Airstream Pump Sack is Sea to Summit's high volume mattress pump, which we have now integrated into the pack sack of every Air Sprung Cell mat. The clever design opens at one end to stow the air mattress, and the other end unfolds to be the built-in pump. The Airstream pump bag can be inflated with a single breath and only needs two or three cycles to fill our mats. Not only is this faster than inflating by mouth, but minimal breath condensation enters the mat and there is no dizziness when inflating the mat directly by mouth. The Airstream pump bag is also compatible with Sea to Summit's smaller multifunction valve, which is now included in the updated Aeros cushion range along with the Air Seats.

• ASTM F3340-18 R-VALUE TESTING

  To ensure that you are warm when you sleep (especially if the floor is colder), it is important to know how well your sleeping mat resists heat loss to the floor. This resistance is known as the R-value. A lab-tested R-value is the only way to measure resistance to heat loss. Sea to Summit has always provided independent, lab-tested R-values for its sleeping pads. Since January 2020, we have been using the industry standard ASTM F3340-18 to determine R-values for our mats. There are other factors that determine how well a sleeping pad insulates, but the standardized ASTM R-value test means you can compare the heat loss of sleeping pads from different brands.

• PILLOW LOCK SYSTEM

  The Pillow Lock System consists of self-adhesive Velcro patches that are supplied with all Sea to Summit sleeping mats (from spring 2019). Attached to your sleeping mat, these patches secure your pillow and prevent it from slipping - yet won't catch on clothing or other lightweight fabrics. All Sea to Summit Pillows (from spring 2019) are compatible with this system. Existing pillows can be made Pillow Lock compatible by adding an Aeros pillowcase.
