Salewa Ortles Dyneema Sling 8MM

The thin Ortles Dyneema webbing sling with low volume has a diameter of eight millimeters with a breaking strength of over 22 kilonewtons (kN). The 22 kilonewtons, or 2.2 tons, describes the load at which the material fails. Dyneema fibers are characterized by their light weight and strength - they are even lighter and stronger than steel and Kevlar. The special color coding for immediate length recognition is used not only for Ortles Dyneema webbing slings, but also for Ortles Dyneema rope lanyards. The uniform color system in green, blue, red and gray thus identifies the respective length and helps when climbing and mountaineering to quickly select the right material. The Ortles Dyneema webbing sling belongs in the standard equipment of every climber and is used for belaying as well as for intermediate or self-belaying.
