Mammut Smart 2.0

The Smart 2.0 from Mammut is an innovative and intuitive belay device that has been specially developed for climbing and bouldering activities. Weighing just 80 grams, it is lightweight yet extremely robust. The Smart 2.0 has no moving parts or levers and is based on the proven Tuber principle, which makes it ideal for both lead climbing and top rope climbing.
Thanks to the newly developed high-performancebrakeinsert, the Smart 2.0 offers an improved braking effect and greater safety in the event of a fall. The brakinginsert interacts optimally with the belay carabiner and reliably blocks the climbing rope, providing the belayer with considerable support. For the Smart 2.0, Mammut recommends using the Smart HMS carabiner and suitable rope diameters from 8.7 to 10.5 mm.
The geometry of the Smart 2.0 has been optimized to ensure even more intuitive handling. Based on the experience of the first generation, which was launched on the market in 2009, the belaying method has been retained and adapted to the natural reflex movements of the belayer. The Smart 2.0 therefore sets new standards in terms of safety and user-friendliness.
