The Cloud Sandstorm S

The idea of The Cloud had been present in the minds of the Houdini design team for a long time: A jacket that could be transformed and have other functions. When it was finally launched, the success was instant. The light, warm and highly versatile garment is used both for everyday warmth and shelter on mountaineering expeditions. No matter the adventure - The Cloud provides that extra level of warmth when needed. The Cloud is made in a durable recycled polyester fabric and filled with 80g Primaloft® Silver Eco. The high collar with a packable hood offers protection from cold winds, while the 3/4 sleeve length and a relaxed fit works comfortably over your regular winter coat or sweater. It compresses really well to fit in everyday backpacks and dries quickly. Recycled, recyclable, PFAS free and BlueSign®-certified, it also pushes the development in terms of minimizing environmental impact. If you are looking for a next level insulation garment to keep you on every adventure, this is a perfect choice. When the garment eventually wears out, please bring it back to Houdini for recycling.

Care instructions

  • Airing laundry instead of washing it saves water and energy and extends the life of the garments.
  • Use our wash bag to protect your clothes and prevent fiber leakage. When cleaning the bag and filter in the machine, make sure you clean it and throw the lint in the trash can. Never rinse it in water, as we don't want the fibers to end up in lakes or oceans.
  • Machine wash cold
  • Use mild, environmentally certified cleaning agents and use an appropriate dose.
  • Avoid fabric softener. This is not only harmful to our environment, but also negatively affects the performance of clothing, especially moisture transport and breathability.
  • Hang the shell out to dry. Just remember to apply heat to the garment after washing to reactivate the water repellent surface of the shell fabric. Use a drying cabinet, dryer or iron. Make sure that the heat is well dosed so that the garment does not melt.

Technologies and manufacturing processes

  • Switch Woven™

Smooth woven lightweight polyester with a smooth surface. Water repellent, highly wind resistant and small pack size.
  • PrimaLoft® Silver Insulation Eco

Extremely water repellent, durable and fast drying alternative to down. Excellent warmth to weight ratio.
  • Lined product

Our lined garments are made with Primaloft synthetic insulation. Synthetic padding has many advantages over down: You do not have to dry the garment with balls in the dryer to regain its shape, it dries faster and does not smell when damp.
  • Circular

This product is completely circularly produced. Means: It is made from either recycled and recyclable fibers. Most products in today's society have a linear life cycle where the earth's resources are extracted, used and then thrown away. This doesn't work in the long run and has a big impact on the environment. Instead, we want to close the production cycle and reuse materials we already have. But we need your help. If one day your Houdini apparel is completely worn out, please bring it back to us. We have recycling units in all Houdini stores and at many of our retailers.
  • Recycled

At least 50% of the fibers in this product come from recycled sources. Either from recycled clothing or other origin, such as from PET bottles. We use mainly recycled polyester, which has many advantages. It reduces both CO2 emissions and water consumption compared to virgin polyester. By how much depends on the recycled type. One of our suppliers, for example, brings it to 32% reduced CO2 emissions and 94% lower water consumption for mechanically recycled polyester. In addition to the impact of production, Houdini's main approach is to reuse supposed "waste" as raw materials instead of original virgin crude.
  • Recyclable

The material of this product is fully recyclable. Instead of becoming waste, the raw material can be used for new products. Our goal is to remove no more new raw materials from the earth's crust by 2030. Circular products made from recycled or recyclable materials can truly change the game of manufacturing culture. We need your help, though. If your Houdini apparel is completely worn out, please bring it back to us. We have recycling units in all of our own stores and at many of our retailers.
  • Bluesign

This product is certified by Bluesign®. This means production is monitored by a third party to eliminate any harmful chemicals or substances from the production process from start to finish. This benefits all: People, animals and the entire planet.
