A special feature of Zanskar is the warm, light padding made of PrimaLoft® Silver Insulation Natural Blend: this is a soft hybrid insulation made of ultra-fine PrimaLoft® fibres and kapok, a bio-based sustainable plant fibre from the kapok tree. The trees thrive without the use of fertilizers and pesticides and do not require additional irrigation to grow. The large fruits of the kapok tree contain fluffy, light and silky fibres that look like cotton wool and are also known as plant down. They offer excellent heat storage as well as good moisture management for a comfortable and light feel. PrimaLoft® Silver Insulation Natural Blend consists of 30% kapok and 70% ultra-fine PrimaLoft® fibres, which in turn are made from two-thirds recycled PET bottles to conserve fossil resources. For optimal thermal comfort, PrimaLoft® Silver Insulation Natural Blend is the environmentally friendly solution. This product is manufactured with Eco Finish environmentally friendly water repellent without fluorocarbons (PFC).
