Not only downhill-oriented mountain bikers who expect good grip on carrying passages, are right with the bike shoe.The Moab AM is made of high quality and durable leather. The oiled nubuck leather from Terracare not only gives the shoe a super look, but also provides more weather protection. A classic lacing combined with the Ortholite® insole provides an optimal fit. The insole has a harder PU foam in the pedal area and supports efficient power transfer to the pedal. An attached toe and heel cap protects against stones and impacts. For added comfort and protection, the EVA midsole has an additional cushioning element incorporated in the heel area.The newly developed AM Flat sole takes you to a new level in bike and hike. The graduated Hexagon profile in the pedal area in combination with the soft SUPtraction® Flat rubber compound provides perfect grip on the pedal and a lot of driving fun. In the toe and heel area, the sole has a deeper profiling, which provides the necessary grip in Trage and Schiebepassagen. In addition, the hexagons act like scales that wedge into the ground when walking and thus provide a firm grip even in critical passages.The certified leather from Terracare comes from German production and was manufactured in a particularly environmentally friendly way. The lining material contains 40% recycled materials. The comfortable Ortholite® insole is made of environmentally friendly Eco Plush PU foam and 50% recycled polyester. Care instructions
- Basically, you can start with new VAUDE shoes without further special treatment in your adventures. However, after some time or after hard work, your shoes need some care to remain fully functional - especially leather shoes. Here are a few useful tips and tricks:
- Clean: Remove the footbed and laces, then remove the external dirt with water and a nylon brush. Nikwax cleaning gel for shoes is best suited for this purpose. The footbed can be washed separately.
- Drying: Stuff the shoe with newspaper and allow to air dry. Do not place in direct sunlight or close to other heat sources, otherwise the materials can quickly become brittle and hard. Natural products such as leather always contain some residual moisture to remain malleable. Rapid heating will cause the material to harden completely and crack.
- Waxing leather shoes: As mentioned above, leather requires a certain level of moisture to remain supple. This is maintained by regular application of maintenance wax. Do not use grease or oil for this purpose. Massage the wax in with a cloth. Nikwax impregnation wax for leather is best suited here, here is also equal to a small sponge on the tube for gentle working in. Attention: The outer material becomes slightly darker due to the applied wax!
- Impregnate: After waxing, please impregnate the leather shoes generously. But even shoes with built-in waterproof membrane should be impregnated to maintain full functionality. A wet, soaked outer material is like a barrier and significantly deteriorates the breathability of the membrane. It is best to impregnate the shoes after cleaning, when they are not yet completely dry. Then the treatment can penetrate deeper into the pores.
- For textile and leather shoes Nikwax fabric and leather impregnation is suitable.
- Basically: please observe all instructions printed on the care products.
