Mountain 25

Part of The North Face's proven Summit Series™, the reliable two-bed Mountain 25 tent is an alpine classic relied on by the world's best climbers. We've tweaked it over the years based on athlete feedback, but we've made very few changes to the overall design because it's proven itself in storms, heavy snowfall, and extremely cold temperatures. It is made of durable nylon with ripstop fabric in the canopy and a water-repellent coating on the flysheet and groundsheet. The DAC poles and pegs are exceptionally strong for their weight, and the construction itself stands up to hurricane force winds. Thanks to a combination of pole channels and clips, the tent is easy to pitch even in bad weather. And once inside, there's plenty of storage, including hanging loops for damp clothes and a large vestibule for larger backpacks. Setting up in the snow is no problem either, as four snow pegs are included. And should the wind get even stormier, there are welded reinforcements at critical points in the outer tent.

Care instructions

  • CHECK YOUR TENT BEFORE CLEANING: Proper cleaning and storage of your tent will help it last longer. Before you put your tent in storage, break it down and inspect it. Look for damage, torn seams, broken zippers, holes or mold.
  • CLEAN WITH SPONGE: After looking at your tent, clean all dust and dirt stains with a sponge, mild soap and lukewarm water. Rinse with a clean, wet sponge. Let the tent dry thoroughly before taking it down. Do not soak or machine wash your tent.
  • STORE LOOSELY IN A COOL, DRY PLACE: Store the tent loose in a large cotton bag or cardboard box in a cool, dry place. Be sure to wipe down the poles with a sponge or towel. Salt can cause them to corrode, and dirt on the poles stored with the tent can cause mold.
  • Aftercare of the tent: Spray your tent with a UV-blocking spray from time to time to protect it from sun damage and peeling of the outer tent.
  • Dry before packing: To prevent mold and mildew from forming, make sure your tent is completely dry before packing it away. Also, make sure the elastic cords in the poles are dry before you put it away.
