The facts at a glance
Scarpa Chimera
The Chimera is state of the art in climbing shoe construction and materiality. The consummate high-end climbing shoe model with handmade, multi-piece upper, SRT system in the forefoot, aggressive downturn and asymmetrical shape offers the perfectly balanced blend of power and sensitivity. The PCB Tension System supports the foot muscles when standing kicks in overhanging terrain. The TPS System, which consists of an insert in the toe area, supports the toes in vertical terrain when standing small kicks. The combination of the SRT system, which encloses the toe area extensively with a rubber layer, and the well-placed, asymmetrical lacing forms a toe patch that brings excellent toe hooking properties. The Chimera is the perfect choice for sport climbing routes and bouldering at all wall inclinations.

Technologies and manufacturing processes
Active Randing
TA -Tension offers the benefits of a dynamic tensioning system without adding extra material under the key toe positions. The TA (Toe-Abductor) Tension System works with the muscles of the foot to improve toe strength while minimizing disruption to the flexor muscles of the foot.PCB-TENSION
The PCB-Tension System maintains the shape of the shoe without restricting the dynamics of the natural movement of the foot. The tensioned rubber strip, in combination with the SRT system, leads to a reduction of the material layers and thus to a higher sensitivity when climbing. The SRT system surrounds the foot and guarantees unparalleled hooking performance.SRT
The soft M50 rubber layer is one of the core technologies of the SCARPA climbing shoe softline. The rubber encloses the forefoot area and ensures perfect power transmission to the toes, for maximum grip on friction steps and incomparably sensitive toehooking capabilities.PAF
The PAF (Pressure-Absorbing-Fit) system is an innovative system that distributes heel tension while improving fit at the heel. The strong tension band is interrupted behind the heel to reduce pressure on the Achilles tendon. There, it is connected to a softer rubber that acts like a "bridge" and allows for a full fit to the individual heel shape. The holes at the top of the PAF act as indicators to tell you how much tension/support you have. 1-hole for light tension, 2-hole for medium tension, 3-hole for heavy tension.TPS
The TPS (Toe Power Support) is a thermoformable insole in the forefoot area. It offers a tailored, anatomical fit in this important area of the shoe. The most important advantage of this system is the optimal support of the toes during hard moves and the high precision with which even the smallest kicks or lasts can be approached.M50 Rubber
Our softest rubber compound that offers the best conformability to the natural shape of the foot and toe. The conformable material achieves a Shore A hardness value of 50 and is perfect for use in our SRT system, toe caps and strategic positions on the shoe upper.RESOLEABLE
This shoe can be resoled at an official SCARPA dealer. Repair your shoe before it is too damaged. Find your dealer in the dealer locator.XS-GRIP2
The VIBRAM® XS GRIP2 is used where pure grip is needed! In competition or in overhanging routes, shoes with this sole are indispensable.
