The Wildfire Edge is a flexible technical approach shoe that quickly and easily converts from a hiking shoe to a climbing shoe. The Salewa Switchfit system was developed and extensively tested with mountain guides and professional climbers from the Dolomites - it is so simple and clever. When you pass the laces through the extra eyelet and tighten, your foot is pulled forward like a climbing shoe. The result: climbing with the toe and stepping on friction becomes easier and safety on technical terrain improves. The change back to the hiking shoe works by simply loosening the laces. This widens the toe box and provides greater comfort while hiking. GORE-TEX® Extended Comfort Under the highly abrasion-resistant upper (suede and microfiber) is the thin, highly breathable GORE-TEX® Extended Comfort membrane, which provides maximum comfort in a wide range of weather conditions. Your feet will stay dry in wet weather, but if you start to sweat during high-intensity activity, the moisture that builds up can still escape to the outside. Climbing Precision To improve climbing precision, the Wildfire Edge is also equipped with an Edging Plate, an insole plate under the forefoot that adds extra stiffness to this key area when climbing. The rest of the insole remains flexible to ensure a high level of comfort and a natural rolling motion. Good adhesion The Pomoca Speed MTN sole is made of an extra adhesive rubber compound for high friction on slabs and other smooth rock structures. The outsole design provides a balance between grip and traction, and the special lug pattern has proven itself on muddy and soft ground. It gives you effective grip - in both dry and wet conditions. Alpine Fit For additional torsional stability, the Exa Shell Struktur: it gives the foot protective support and prevents slipping in the shoe. Plus, your foot is protected by Salewa's 3F system, for a precise fit and firm grip while maintaining flexibility. Climbing Lacing, Salewas climbing shoe lacing, goes up to the toes - so you can tighten the shoe individually. The Wildfire Edge is equipped with Multi Fit Footbed Plus (MFF+), a special footbed that you can customize to your foot shape through the interchangeable sections.
