The Ortles Rappel Master is made of a hybrid construction: polyethylene is used in the core, which has a high molecular weight (UHMW). The material - also known as high-strength PE for simplicity's sake - is lighter and stronger than steel and Kevlar and has a high breaking strength of over 15 kilonewtons (Kn). In the protective sheath we process robust polyamide. This combination provides an ideal strength-to-weight ratio, ensures excellent knotability and impresses with high UV resistance. The Ortles Rappes Master rep cord is ideal for abseiling or as a 40 or 60 meter rope for emergency. In the Rolltop compression bag, the reepschnur is compactly stowed in the backpack.
