Smart HMS
HMS carabiner with safety gate to prevent accidental cross-loading. With the Smart HMS, safety and ease of handling are paramount. The Screw Gate mechanism can only be operated when the Safety Gate is open. This prevents accidental opening as well as unintentional twisting of the carabiner in the belay loop of the climbing harness. Dangerous transverse loads on the carabiner can thus be ruled out. For the Smart 2.0 belay device, Mammut recommends the use of the Smart HMS.
