    Black Diamond M Recon Insulated Shell

    Built to provide extra warmth on lift days or sub-zero backcountry tours, the Recon Stretch Insulation Shell utilizes zoned insulation to trap body heat in key areas while remaining breathable on panels prone to overheating. The shell’s durable 4-way stretch fabric is combined with our waterproof/breathable solution, BD.dry™, to deliver a jacket ready for both in and out-of-bounds missions. With one chest pocket to hold essentials and two mesh internal drop pockets for skins or extra layers, the Recon features ample storage, while the jacket’s removable powder skirt adds versatility for variable conditions. The Recon also has pit zip vents for easy temperature regulation on the skin-track, a waterproof front zipper and a ski-helmet compatible hood for added protection on storm days.

We offer a variety of sustainable solutions, from bluesign-certified fabrics to PFC- and EMPEL-free DWR solutions. Now we have integrated a stretch fabric into this technology, and this is what sets BD.dry™ apart from other waterproof solutions.

      ThermoLite T3 Eco-Made insulation is designed from synthetic hollow fibers with 100% recycled content. The trapped air provides better insulating properties while being lightweight, durable and warm even when wet.

    • 1. Collar circumference:
      Measured around the larynx. Measured at the level of the larynx. The tape should not constrict and must be passed around the neck horizontally.
    • 2. Chest:
      Measure the circumference at the widest part of the chest (under the armpits)
    • 3. Sleeve length:
      The distance from top of shoulder joint to arm wrist. Angle the arm slightly and pass the tape through the elbow as well.
    • 4. Waist:
      Measured the waist circumference below the navel. The measuring tape should not constrict the belly keeping the tape horizontal around the body.
    • 5. Hips:
      Measure the hips circumference at the fullest part of the seat keeping the tape horizontal around the body.
