WhyCarbon and aluminium feel different in use; low weight alone does not determine a smooth pole action.

WhyOverlong poles can make you lift your shoulders. Ask for guidance with length and technique if needed.
Common questions
Do I need adjustable poles?
If you always walk the same route on your own, a suitable fixed length may be enough. Adjustable poles can accommodate different people and pack down for transport. Before each walk check that every section is securely locked in place.
Can I use trekking poles?
Purposeful Nordic walking relies on hand guidance: a suitable strap maintains the connection as your hand opens. Look at the handle and strap system and ask someone to show you the movement rather than simply shortening an ordinary walking pole.
When do I need rubber tips?
On tarmac, suitable rubber tips soften contact and help you plant the pole smoothly. On earth or softer paths use the exposed point according to the instructions. Replace worn rubber tips promptly and choose spares that fit the particular pole system.
How do I find the right length?
The manufacturer's recommendation gives a starting point. With sound technique your shoulders stay relaxed and the poles work backwards. A lesson can help you adjust the length and coordinate your arm movement, hand release and walking rhythm.
