What does fill power mean?
It describes the volume of a defined quantity of down under specified conditions. The warmth of the finished jacket also depends on fill quantity, baffle construction and fit.
Is there a fixed temperature limit?
A universal limit would be misleading. Movement, wind, other clothing and personal comfort all change your needs. Choose around the intended activity and conditions.
Can I use down in rain?
Only an explicitly waterproof overall construction provides that level of rain protection. An ordinary water-repellent face is not a substitute for a shell in prolonged rain.
How should I dry a down jacket?
Follow the care label and manufacturer instructions closely. The filling must dry completely before storage; damp clumps are not a normal state for storing it.
How much does an example weigh?
