What the names mean

The product names describe the shoe: 6 Inch is the shaft height of just over 15 cm, and Mid stands for mid-height. Warm Lined means a warm lining throughout, and Waterproof means just that. GTX indicates a GORE-TEX membrane, as on the Hudson Road Chukka.

Leather, seams and membrane

Waterproof Timberland boots are made of waterproof leather, and according to Timberland the laces and hardware don't absorb water either. On the Premium 6-Inch, the seams are also sealed. Britton Road has a TimberDry membrane inside.

Finding the right size

Frequently asked questions

How should a Timberland boot fit?

According to Timberland, snug but not tight: you should be able to move your toes, and a maximum of 0.6 to 1.3 cm of slip at the heel is normal. Try winter boots on with the thick socks you plan to wear in them.

Do I need to break in new boots?

According to Timberland, some new boots need a little time before they are fully comfortable. But they should never hurt or restrict your foot. If they do, try a different size: Timberland says sizing can vary even within one collection.

What is the Anti-Fatigue footbed?

A comfort system that Timberland has taken from PRO, its work footwear line. According to Timberland, the geometric structure absorbs shock and returns energy to the foot. In the men's Premium 6-Inch, it is removable.

What is the Euro Hiker?

A leather hiking boot with a light sole which, according to Timberland, has the comfort of a sneaker. An EVA footbed and EVA midsole provide cushioning, a steel shank supports the arch, and there is a rubber rand and a lug sole.

2-Eye or 3-Eye: what's the difference?

The number stands for the eyelets in the lacing. According to Timberland, the Classic 2-Eye is cushioned with EVA and designed for grip on deck and on land. The 3-Eye Lug sits on a robust lug sole.
