In the Ortles TirolWool® Air insulation jacket, we combine Tyrolean wool with partially recycled polyester. The material’s hollow fibers can trap air to retain body heat, giving the jacket a very low weight while offering high loft and insulation. The material also provides excellent thermal performance even when wet. Inserts made from our weather-resistant Powertex® material on the hood, shoulders, upper arms, and cuffs provide additional protection against abrasion. The features are also designed for alpine adventures: The helmet-compatible hood protects against wind and weather, the two-way front zipper allows access to the belay device, the two inner mesh pockets store small items, and the adjustable cuffs with Velcro closures and thumb loops can be easily pulled over winter gloves.
