"What is so special about it? In the initial phase of development, this garment was nicknamed The Orange. And why? The brief to Houdini's design team was to create a completely waterproof, packable shell garment that would be no bigger than an orange when packed. The idea is that you can always pack these pants in your backpack and be prepared for any unexpected mountain weather. The idea behind the women's Orange Pants is that you can wear other items of clothing better if you wear them on top of each other. Let's not kid ourselves: if you're heading out for a run, hike, ski tour or long climb, waterproof trousers are rarely the most comfortable option (you usually want to maximize breathability). Nevertheless, you should never go out in unpredictable mountain weather without a pair. That's why we've developed a fully waterproof shelltrouser that you can take with you wherever you go and still always be ready when bad weather approaches. And when it comes down to it, the ultra-light, smooth and low-noise fabric ensures a high level of comfort. What functions are offered? The Orange Pants for women are minimalist to save weight and volume. We have only added the bare minimum of additional featuresu00u00fcgt: waist and leg adjustments and zippers on the lower legu00fcs. The main feature of the garment is the concept and how it feels to wear it. This is not your usual shelltrousers, but a completely new kind of ultra-lightweight suppleness that you will hardly feel, but that will still keep you dry in any storm. When should I use them? The Orange Pants for women were developed for mountain sports where weight and pack size are crucial: running, ski touring, mountaineering or traditional climbing. If you have them in your backpack, you won't notice they're there, and when the weather gets rough, they'll keep you dry and comfortable. Of course, they also make super light and comfortable rain pants for all those times when you're not pounding through the mountains. The Orange Pants are made from recycled and recyclable polyester, enabling a cycle in which nothing becomes waste. They are also completely free from toxic chemicals. If the garment is worn out, we ask you to return it to Houdini. In all our stores and at many retailers, Houdini's products are taken back for recycling."
